1972 De Tomaso Pantera GT-5
“Elvis Presley owned a Pantera and once fired a gun at it when it wouldn’t start.”

The mid-engined De Tomaso Pantera was manufactured between
1971-74 by De Tomaso Automobili. Designed by Tom Tjaarda who worked for Ferrari,
it was imported by Ford with their 351 cubic inch “Cleveland” engine.

In Late 1972 the “L” or Luxury edition was introduced, featuring the
black safety front and rear bumpers.

By 1974 Lincoln - Mercury claimed that 6,091 Panteras had been
brought to the U.S.
